The following are notes I got from my father who is currently 83 years
young
and he got them from his father who originally wrote them in 1919.
Col. Frank Seltzer, born on Seltzer plantation, Union Water Works named
Seltzer Springs, Duchy of Nassau, Germany. Mathias founder to America.
Arrived Philadelphia September 5, 1730 Settled at Union Water Works 1730.
Mathias had two sons Michael Seltzer and Christian Seltzer. Christian
Seltzer had a son John Jacob Seltzer. John Jacob had a son John Jr. born
August 27, 1820. John Jr.’s son Uriah Henry Seltzer born January 18, 1851
is my Great-Great Grandfather. His daughter Ida Seltzer born September 15,
1876 (my Great Grandmother) had a son David Brendle Bashore born April 10,
1892 and married Minerva Iceman their sons and daughter (my Aunt &
Uncles) are David Bryan Bashore, Henry W. Bashore, Paul R. Bashore, George
R. Bashore, Edith Kreiser (Bashore) and Robert Bashore
John Clark Seltzer, son of Jacob, Mt. Nebo called Seltzerville.
A. Frank Seltzer F&M, US Military service 1862. First Lieutenant, Company
G, 115’th Regiment of the Pennsylvania Volunteers, 3’rd Brigade, Sec.
Division, Third Corps Army of Potomac. Promoted to Captain July 1863.
Was in the Battles of Fereralsberg, Chancellorsville, and Gettysburg.
Physical disability and discharged March 30, 1864. Thereafter became a
member of the Lebanon County Bar.

William H. Bashore at age 16 went to the army from 1861 through May 18,
1864. His left arm was shot off. He was born in Union Township, Lebanon
County Pennsylvania on March 4, 1845. He was the son of Tomas and Leah
(Shuck) Bashore who lived on the Bashore farm in Union, PA. He then went
to Narmal, Ohio and taught school in Warren County Ohio and there met his
wife. His wife is buried in Jamestown cemetery. In 1872 he became the
Clerk of Orphans Court and was still living in the year 1919.
Peter Beshore, of Myerstown, born in Berks County, PA in 1836, was the
son of Daniel and Mary (Leash) Bashore from Berks County.
Michael Beshore from ? with brother, who was killed by Indians before
The Revolutionary War, had a son named Michael who lived in Lebanon County
then moved to Berks County.
Jacob B. Boeshore who owned a Creamery & Produce business ion
Fredericksburg, Pa. was a direct descendent of John George Boeshore, who
came from Germany. Jacob B lived to be (86). He commanded respect; he was
German and a Baptist. John Jacob & son Michael lived in Millersberg,
Berks County. He lived to be (95)
Frank B. Bashore, ex sheriff of Lebanon County and farmer in East
Hanover Township near Grantville was born December 4, 1844. The son of
Jacob and Barbara (Behney) Bashore who were both born on adjoining farms
in Bethel Township, Lebanon County. Son David deceased. They were
Lutherans.(this information came from Biographical annual of Lebanon
